Lawrence Arnstein, well-known San Francisco business man, has been elected chairman of the Health Advisory Board of the Department of Public Health. He has served as a member of this board since 1913.
The conference of the Central States Regional of Junior Hadassah, at the closing session at Hotel Statler, re-elected Miss Dorothy Finkelstein of Columbus, O., as president.
The Misses Mettie Baron of Detroit, Ida Landau of Cleveland and Pessa Polasky of Cincinnati were chosen vice-presidents. Miss Tillye Donoff of Dayton, O., was elected recording secretary and Miss Dorothy Pushkin of Charleston, W. Va., treasurer.
The name central Tri-State Regional of Junior Hadassah was abandoned for Central States Regional of Junior Hadassah after the State of West Virginia was added to membership. The other three states in the regional are Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky.
The conference heard reports from representatives of the four states and adopted resolutions pledging the organization’s wholehearted co-operation to the Jewish National Fund, efforts for the spreading of Palestine propaganda, Senior Hadassah, and recommended that various units co-operate with Young Judaea to interest Judaeans in Junior Hadassah work.
