The present Government is determined to guarantee equality to all inhabitants of the country, irrespective of race or religion.
At the same time, Count Apponyi allowed himself to warn the Jewish press: I know the Jewish press is not friendly towards Hungary, he said, but I feel that it would be a grave mistake and might cause a serious revival of anti-Semitism in Hungary if Jewish public opinion tried to interfere with Hungary obtaining her loan. Foreign Jewry should be careful not to give a pretext to the Hungarian anti-Semites to incite the Hungarian public.
