With Simon looking on, the committee discussed the course to be taken. At this meeting, Charles Herbert, union delegate, reported that many markets are merging in order to discharge slaughterers.

In one market, it was revealed, slaughtering is being carried on behind closed doors, and the number of chickens killed could not conceivably be killed in such a short time according to the kosher laws.

No decision was arrived at, except that the delegation will visit City Hall at 9:30 a. m., today and attempt to see the Mayor.
