The establishment of separate labor camps for Jews and non-Jews in France was ordered today by the French Minister of Interior, the Vichy radio reported.
The broadcast said that the Minister of Interior has also ordered that all unmarried aliens aged between 18 and 50 who have entered France since 1939 be sent to labor camps. They are to be taken to the camps no later than March 1, the order provides.
The British press reported today that a joint British-American-French commission has been appointed in North Africa to review cases of political refugees. The commission is empowered to visit internment and labor camps, to examine evidence and to urge prompt release where necessary.
