The inquiry commission appointed by the polish National Council to study the causes of anti-Semitism in the Polish Army will examine about 200 witnesses, including many generals, it was announced here today.
The announcement said that the commission has already started its investigation among the Polish troops stationed in Scotland. The inquiry is expected to last about a month. The first witnesses to be called will be the twenty-one Jewish soldiers who left the Polish Army because of anti-Semitism and sought to join the British forces. They are now back in their units after the amnesty granted to them by president Raczkiewicz following their conviction by a Polish court-martial on charges of “desertion.”
