The sum of $500,000 was contributed by 2,000 Jewish women to the United Jewish Appeal of New York at a rally today in honor of Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt, held at the Waldorf-Astoria. The rally marked the official opening of the campaign of the Women’s Division of the United Jewish Appeal. Principal speakers included Mrs. Roosevelt, Mrs. Herbert H. Lehman, Marshall Field, Rabbi Milton Steinberg and Monroe Goldwater.
