The Lebanese Government has informed France of its willingness to give asylum to the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, the Paris radio said today.

A French foreign office spokesman said earlier this week that the Mufti was not under house arrest and was free to leave France anytime he wished, provided an Arab country would be willing to accept him.
