Large Mexican Government Delegation Leaves for Parley in Israel

The largest Mexican Government delegation ever to visit Israel, left here this morning to participate in the 27th World Congress for Housing and Planning which opens in Jerusalem tomorrow.

The delegation, which is headed by Under Secretary of State, Guillermo Rosell of the Mexican Ministry of National Properties, was seen off at the airport by the Israeli Charge d’Affaires, Menahem Werner Loval and high officials of the Mexican Government. The delegation is composed of representatives from most of Mexico’s official and private economic planning agencies.

Among the participants in the Mexican Mission which totals 27 people, are representatives from the Mexican Ministry of Finance, the National Oil Company PEMEX, the Mexican University, the Technological Institute, banks and professional associations. Under Secretary Rosell stated at the airport that he is taking to the Congress and to the people and government of Israel, a personal message from President Lopez Mateos.

Between sessions of the Congress, the Mexican delegates will tour the country, contact Israeli institutions, as well as pay a visit to two groups of Mexicans now studying in Israel within the framework of Israel’s technical assistance program. The Israeli Charge d’Affaires stated that the visit of this delegation signifies the beginning of closer technical cooperation between Mexico and Israel on all levels and especially in the field of national and regional planning, housing and cooperative organizations.
