United Nations emissary Ambassador Gunnar Jarring met with Foreign Minister Abba Eban today for the second time in less than 24 hours. According to a Foreign Ministry spokesman, their latest talks, like their previous ones, revolved around the question of bringing Israel and the Arab states together for peace negotiations.

Ambassador Jarring returned to his headquarters on Cyprus following his meeting with Mr. Eban. He is scheduled to visit Cairo and Amman later this week and possibly Beirut before returning here for further talks. It is understood here that Ambassador Jarring and Mr. Eban made no mention in their talks of the recent campaign in the Arab press to label the Jarring mission a failure.
