There was no official comment here today on the Middle East section of President Nixon’s third annual foreign policy report to the US Congress yesterday. Privately, however, high-ranking Israelis seemed pleased and some observed that the passages on the Middle East were much more favorable to Israel than the corresponding passages of Nixon’s foreign policy report last year. The official silence may be broken over the week-end when government leaders usually air their views on radio and television interviews.
